Choosing A New Watch (For Men)

If you're like most people, you'll have owned at least one watch before. Even if you don't currently wear one, at some point you'll have no doubt owned a Timex, a Disney character watch or a beat up old watch that has been passed on to you from a relative. Maybe you were part of the Swatch craze that hit the 80s or maybe you got a freebie with a Happy Meal one time.

Whatever your experience with watches has been, one thing is certain - watches will never go out of fashion. Arguably, people don't even need a watch these days, as they can easily find out the time from their cell phone, but cell phones have been around a while now and yet watches are as popular as ever.

Simply put, a watch has a style that cannot be replaced by a phone or other technological gizmo. A classy timepiece says more about a man than an electronic gadget. Granted, a woman will take a gander at a man's feet to check out the shoes, but she will surely check out a man's watch (or lack thereof) soon after. The clothes may make the man, but a watch certainly doesn't hurt. The kind of watch a man wears makes a large statement about him.

Men also do not have the same amount of accessories available to them as women. While women have a wide variety of rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings to from which to choose, men have only a few choices or may bypass these altogether and simply stay with a watch. In this case, the quality of the watch is very important because it will stand out even more.

Two brands of watches that often announce success are Rolex and Tag Heuer. These favorites do for a man what a mansion, a yacht, or a BMW does. They say that he is doing well. You may be able to chalk it up to society, but people are attracted to those who are successful. Rolex watches or Tag Heuer watches may not stand out in a crowd of wealthy men, but the point is made.

It may seem that top end watches are too expensive, but they really aren't. Consider the quality that comes with the price tag. The watch will last a lifetime and keep that new sheen it had when you first put it on. And if you look online, you will probably come across watches that are discounted up to 30% off of those you would find in the store.

G-Shock Casio Wristwatches Set The Trend

For todays young generation style and functionality are essential ingredients needed in a watch. When a watch becomes a part of your fashion style it has to look great on your wrist but lacking functionality any such device would be disposable. One established watch maker whose tradition for technological advances in wristwatches also combines the style needed for the current market is Casio.

Casio wristwatches were first produced by the company in 1974 with the release of Casiotron. This groundbreaking watch not only showed the hours, minutes, and seconds in digital format, but also had the first built in digital calendar which could determine whether a year was a leap year. The stage was now set for Casio to become a world leading watch producer. Prior to these releases the company was mainly known for leading the way with digital calculators, this was another area they excelled in.

As the next decade went by Casio also moved into the production of musical instruments with electronic keyboards. In 1980 they released the famous Casiotone and paved the way for a wave of similar instruments which would revolutionize budget musical instruments.

Today Casio wristwatches come in all shapes, sizes and colors. In particular the range named G-Shock reflects the historic tradition of the company whilst harnessing the style needed for the modern watch market. First released in the 1980's this line of wristwatches has moved forward into the new millennium and is one of the most popular in retail outlets around the globe.

Models such as the Casio G-Shock G 100 show how wristwatches can be packed with functionality, like dual time and water resistance, yet still look amazing on the wearers wrist. Then there is also the G-Shock G 1000, a fantastic chronograph watch which is sturdy, robust but yet highly affordable. Casio wristwatches really do offer the wearer something many others cannot, style without compromise on detail and durability.

We think it would be a wise decision to consider Casio wristwatches when looking for your next purchase, for all the reasons we mention above. They come in at prices that all age groups can normally afford. This is one of the many reasons why they have become the most popular watch for todays young generation.

We feature wristwatches from many top brands in our store but Casio wristwatches are one of the most popular. Visit today and take a look.
