A Look At Leather Watch Straps

A watch is more than just a piece to tell time on today. These are part of a fashion statement. The watch chosen tells people who you are. Not just the face of the watch, but the type of watch band. There are a variety of different watch straps out there and choosing the right one is just as important as the type of watch it is attached to.

Leather is a versatile material and that makes it a perfect choice for watch bands. It looks good with any kind of clothing and any situation. It doesn't matter whether the watch model is on the cheap end or in an expensive line, a leather band will make it look even better. Changing bands to match moods and situation is easy because of the ease and flexibility of this type of material. And, that also makes them acceptable anywhere from the board room to the ball room.

Alligator and crocodile skins are common popular leathers, especially when it comes to the big names in watches. However, there are a variety of other leathers that look just as good and are just as popular. One can go with a pig skin, calf skin or sheep skin band easily or they can go for exotic leather like stingray skin, shark skin, lizard skin or even ostrich skin straps.

While the straps come in a variety of leather materials, they also come in either glossy or matte varieties. The colors also come in a variety of shades with the most common being black, brown, and in some cases blue. But almost every color imaginable can be found in leather watch bands as well as the thickness from thin and delicate to thick and chunky.

How soft a leather band is can have an impact on how comfortable it is. While some are very soft and fit perfectly the moment they are put on, others can be stiff and need to relax and break in with time. How much padding will also play a part in the comfort and softness. They come in thin lining to thickly padded to no padding at all, the choice is up to the wearer.

No matter what color, thickness of padding or type of leather you choose, the main goal besides looking good is the comfort. Choosing a watch band that fits well and goes around the wrist comfortably is necessary. You don't want it too tight or too loose. Taking the time to try a few different watch straps before choosing the one you want allows you to make sure the fit is good and that it looks good on you.

Before you buy a watch take a look at the amazing range of watch straps available that can give your existing watch a completely new look.

Do Not Mistake A Cheap Timepiece For An Expensive One

Is it possible that when you think you are getting a once in a lifetime deal on a timepiece that you are buying a fake one instead. It is possible that you might be looking at something that looks like an expensive watch, but is more likely a cheap copy. Fake watches copy the well known brand names you probably have heard of. But there is another category of wristwatch products that include many expensive ladies watches being sold on the Internet and through magazine ads that are not actually counterfeit, but they are sold using outrageous misrepresentations and should be equally avoided.

These luxury watch imposters are inexpensive watches being misleadingly represented as if they were fine luxury timepieces. Manufacturers of the fake watches try to fool people who do not check them closely by using a brand name that sounds or looks like a well known brand name. The fake watches are usually made with much more inferior raw materials and are mass produced rather than made by an experienced craftsman. The typical things that are done include a few things like are a combination of an impressive Swiss, German or European sounding name, or an impressive recommended retail price, or fancy verbiage that sounds like what a luxury watch brand such as Cartier Ballon Bleu would say, or impressive comparisons of features to those of other luxury timepieces, or a special price you can buy it for that is incredibly below the retail price.

Unfortunately a recommended price is just some number that is made up and has nothing to do with reality. How can they sell them so cheap? It is because they are not quality products. Consumer protection agencies clearly label such exaggerated retail pricing as a misleading and deceptive sales tactic. In order for a person to avoid being taken in by any of these tactics, they need to do their homework and read a about the real luxury watches before they go out and spend their hard earned money on something that might be practically worthless.

A couple of obvious clues will help someone determine if a watch is a cheap copy or not. No matter how good a bargain hunter you are, do not fall for anyone selling a good watch for less than two hundred and fifty dollars. Quality timepieces are good investments and they do not have to be sold as being marked down by fifty percent or more to be sold. No real luxury brands are ever sold at fire sales, massive inventory clearances or end of model year closeouts. A real luxury brand will be well discussed on the Internet so do a search for the brand name and if you can't find something like a Cartier Ballon Bleu review or collectors and owners discussing the merits of the brand, it is unlikely to be a true luxury brand. The type of retail outlet that you make your purchase from is as important as the make of the watch. If you see a brand sold mostly on auction sites, and never anywhere near it's claimed retail price, it is not a luxury brand. Only in rare cases do these ultra-cheap imposter brands have official company websites that showcase the products. It is getting easier and easier to have a presence on the internet, so even that is something that should be taken lightly before you invest your money.

The bottom line is that when a deal looks like a amazing and unbelievable opportunity, it usually should be avoided. High quality watches that are handcrafted and made with good materials do not have to be sold at one tenth of their stated value.

If you think that you are saving a bunch of money because you got seventy five percent off, that is not true because it is a discount off of an inflated value. An excitement that causes them to overlook that they are really only purchasing low-end merchandise that is neither a luxury product nor worth anything more than the dime-store price they actually paid for it.
